She was born March 29th 1985. She was born in Roswell New Mexican. Gerina Michelle Mendoza is her birth name. Gerina Stevenson was born to Mexican parents Rita Stevenson and Alan Stevenson. Her heritage is Mexican-American and is an American by citizenship. From the time she was little she's been extremely interested in participating in sport. Gerina took up golf when she was just the age of fifteen. Gerina graduated from Goddard High School. The school won at the New Mexico State Golf Tournament in her high school years. In addition, she was a volleyball player at the state level. She began attending the University of Texas. She was the only winner of all events she took part in throughout her senior years. While in her undergrad years, she was awarded as the conference's best player of year, as well as UTEP's Female Athletic of the Year.
