Sofia Vergara

Sofia Margarita Vergara Vergara was born and was raised at Barranquilla, Colombia. Margarita Davila de Vergara is her mother. Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo provides cattle for meat processing industries. She is one of five sisters. She went to the private bilingual school that was Spanish/English. Following her studies in pre-dental and a few years of working, Sofia started to get involved within the modeling and TV business. Sofia, however, was noticed at the beach by a professional photographer. It led to being offered a variety of modeling as well as television appearances. When she was 23, she was a runway model. When she was in the United States, her travel show Fuera de serie, which she hosted from 1995-98, brought her to the public. The first movie role she played was in the crime comedy Big Trouble (2002). Gloria Delgado Pritchett, a character from the American Television show Modern Family (2009), was her first major role. As a result of this role, she was nominated for four Emmys between 2010-2013 for Outstanding Actress in Comedy Series. Sofia lives in Los Angeles, California with her son Manolo.
