Her father is Jim O'Grady. Her mother, Jan, was a financial planner. She was raised in Wheaton, Illinois, and completed her studies at Wheaton North High school in 1981. In commercials, she appeared prior to her move from Wheaton, Illinois, to Los Angeles. The career path O'Grady began her career as model for Montgomery Ward, and well having a number of commercials.
